Its only 2 weeks until Spring, which is a time of year that we traditionally see more properties come to market. We have started to see more properties coming to market, however we are still down on previous years and there is still a severe shortage of quality properties on the market, particularly freestanding homes in the outer suburbs.
In these areas many of the properties are selling after the first open home, after receiving multiple unconditional offers. We are seeing many people from the Inner ring suburbs moving to the outer suburbs seeking lifestyle moves, or additional living areas.
Prices have maintained across the city, however we have seen prices increases in particular price ranges in particular areas. The First Homebuyer scheme is seeing a rush of buyers under $700,000 flood into the market, which has increased prices in these ranges.
